Should Huck Fin Be Taught In CHS

I think tat Huck Fin should be taught in CHS for many reasons. My first reason is because it explains how slaves were treated, it also shows how bad it was down south, and things they said or did back then that are similar to today.
I think it should be taught because it explains how slaves were treated and referred to as for instants when they called Jim “Mrs. Watson big nigga Jim.” This shows how things how things have changed in history and slaves aren’t allowed to refer to people like that.
Another reason is because it shows how things were in New Orleans things were so bad down there that when they when toms owner mentioned selling him to someone down there he ran away. This can also show how slaves were treated it was said in the book that once a slave went down south he didn’t return.
My final reason why I think that hung fin should be taught in CHS is because things in the book are similar t things today. Such as the slang they use words like ain’t, and ma’m. These words were word that UN educated slaves used and even though we are better educated we still use them. Also the way that hucks father abandoned him. There parents abandon many kids probably even way more than back then. The last thing that is the same from today is the way the young kids such as Huck smoke I don’t know about a pipe but im sure that its similar to cigarettes.
So in conclusion I believe that Huck fin should be taught in CHS because they give an insight on the history of slaves, shows how bad it was down south and how things today are similar to things back then.
